Thinning hair is the worst, and it is something that affects men and women alike. Of all of the beauty issues your hair may be afflicted with, nothing comes close to being as distressing or difficult to hide as hair loss. Society has typically treated it as joke for men, (although the men who cope with it don’t generally find it humorous at all). Women who suffer thinning hair are deeply shamed by it. Yet hair loss in incredibly common. Male pattern baldness for example, is so common that it practically a cliché. It is certainly well studied and addressed by advertisers and products. Women have not fared nearly as well in the industry, despite the fact that, according to research, at least 1 in 3 women will suffer from hair loss or reduced hair volume at some point in their lifetime. ONE IN THREE!
Unfortunately historically, women’s hair loss was ignored by researchers. But it was never ignored by visionary hairdresser and hair rejuvenation icon Rene Furterer, who has been on the cutting edge of research into the prevention of hair loss and the rejuvenation of the scalp and hair follicle, since his early days as a hairdresser in France. Instead of basing his research on male pattern baldness, he began with women - researching how to reverse the damage cause by the harsh chemicals women have used for decades to keep up with fashion – peroxides, straighteners, permanents, dyes and other products. Most product lines are about conditioning the hair length – which is already dead and cannot be changed in any meaningful way. His entire line of hair products is based on making and keeping the scalp and hair follicles healthy. And from this beginning he began to research thinning hair in earnest.

Hair loss is caused by different factors. Two types of hair thinning that can happen to both men and women are Progressive Hair Thinning and Reactional Hair Thinning. Rene Furterer has created specific products to address these very different causes of hair loss. They are designed to address ALL of the underlying causes of each condition, and they do so with a combination of effective, targeted botanicals, vitamins and minerals like Biotin, Peptides, Vitamins B5, Zinc and Copper.
The absolutely last thing your sensitive scalp and damaged follicles need are more harsh chemicals, something noted by more than one Furterer user, who had previously complained of scalp rashes and irritation from using Rogaine.

Progressive Hair Thinning is genetic, and for this hair condition Rene Furterer created his Triphasic system of shampoo, vitamins and concentrated serum. Combining scalp stimulation with ingredients that are scientifically proven to protect the hair bulb while stimulating blood flow. Where men experience it as “receding hairline” and a bald patch at the crown of the head, women see their part getting wider and wider, and patches of visible scalp on their heads. You can read more about this kind of hair loss here.

Reactional Hair Thinning is situational, not genetic. This is a kind of hair loss that results from things like unusual - and sudden amounts of stress, hormonal changes from pregancy and menopause, a wide array of medications, and vitamin deficiencies in your diet. Lots of everyday medications like anti-depressants and birth control pills cause damage hair follicles so I am not talking about extreme meds like chemo. You can read more about this kind of hair loss here. Different causes require different solutions, so the Furterer Triphasic system for sudden, temporary hair loss is formulated differently.
Both systems include a stimulating shampoo, two serums that you apply at different parts of your routine and vitamin supplements that are targeted to give you what you need nutritionally, since great hair is always dependent upon great health.
The entire Rene Furterer line of hair care products is based on scalp and follicle health. Whether you use his hair product collection designed to counteract the negatives of peroxides and hair dyes, or a collection designed to slow hair thinning, the Furterer line puts your scalp health first. Here at The House Of Ebbitt Salon we understand how important the health of your hair is, which is why we use it here on our clients and carry it in our salon.
